Hello and welcome to the new insight on the coin industry
for the week of
February 6, 2006 – Our point of view reflects
greatly on the industry as a whole and leans more
towards our specialties and points of interest.
Gold coins have been on the move again last week showing
no signs of slowing down having sold a nice handful
of treasures including a 1928
Saint in MS67 PCGS, 1907
Saint in MS65 PCGS, 1911-D
Saint MS66 PCGS, and a few others totaling gold
sales for the past week over $60,000.00. Proof Morgan
dollars have also been another series that has shown
interest in collectors and investors, we sold a nice
1883
MSD in PF66 Cameo NGC and one of the most gorgeously
toned Proof Morgan’s which was a 1903
PR64 PCGS.
A nice new addition we have to our webpage is our
reference books section. These Reference
Books are recommended to you by us at Albanese
Rare Coins. Whether you're a prudent collector or
a savvy investor, we feel you can never have enough
knowledge when it comes to purchasing a coin. I try
to read as much as possible and find myself learning
something new everyday.
This week feels to have a positive feeling and by
the end of the week I will have a new list of coins
sold to show the direction in which what coins are
in demand. There are always coins we don’t have
time to even put up at the webpage due to people calling
weekly just to see if we have specific coins in inventory
and when we do have that particular coin we send it
out without having scanned and listed it such as a
beautiful 1880 Trade Dollar in PF65 Cameo NGC that
I am looking at right now on my desk as I write this.
Like I stated a couple weeks ago, I truly think proof
Trade dollars are undervalued and definitely one of
THE most beautiful designs ever minted. The business
strike coins really don’t hold a candle next
to the proof Trade’s when it comes to stunning
beauty, the jet black mirrors and frosty devices on
such a huge dollar really is something to behold.
The point being, nice coins find homes fast, like
this 1800
$1 Large Eagle Draped Bust AU53 PCGS that was
only at the webpage for about an hour when it's new
owner called and said he had to have it.
Keep a watch
for new inventory all week and thanks so much for
taking the time to read my write ups weekly, I truly
appreciate the people who take the time to read these
because it all comes from my heart and I love to write.
Cheers,
Dean Albanese
