October. Issue . 2009,
Hello everyone! We are back from
Philadelphia and working to get our entire new inventory up at the web page. The show was rather slow for retail, with sales that were very low. The public just wasn't there like we had hoped for. Trading amongst dealers was good as we found a lot of nice new PQ treasures. Among these treasures, we came home with was a great 1833 Coronet 1c in MS65RB PCGS/CAC. Also for copper, we have a gorgeous 1849 1c from the “Naftzger Collection” in MS65BN PCGS (POP 4/0). Copper is hot right now and it's hard to find early, eye-appealing large cents and half cents. In my opinion, that is currently a good place to put your money. We also came home with some very nice gold, including an 1847 $10 eagle in MS61 NGC, 186120 $5 half eagle in MS64 PCGS/CAC, and a RARE 1853-O $20 double eagle in AU58 NGC/CAC. For silver, well, we have everything from eighteenth century quarters to nineteen and twentieth century proofs that look like they were just minted!
As gold climbs higher and higher, great eye-appealing common dates and rarities are becoming scarce. Gold is over $1,000 again today! I don’t care what anyone else says, coins are the place to safeguard your money now.
In a couple of weeks we travel to Coin Fest where we plan on having a much better show, as I think the public will be a great turnout!
Our Warmest Regards,
The Staff of Albanese Rare Coins
