The big buzz seems to be the August ANA World's Fair of Money in Denver, Colorado.

It seems there will be many "extraordinary" exhibits this year. And we recommend anyone whom has the wherewithal to attend this show to "do so". Whether you’re a beginner collector or an expert numismatist you will definitely be thrilled by the numismatic wonders that will be present for all to see. In fact some of the most prized artifacts of American numismatics.

The U.S. Treasury Department will have a $1 billion public exhibit and many of the world’s most famous and valuable rare coins...

Exhibits include:

Bowers and Merena, the official convention auctioneer, will be conducting a multisession auction during the week of the show. Sessions feature a half dozen gold coins privately minted in 1860 and 1861 by Clark, Gruber & Co. of Denver, including an example of the famous $10 “Pike’s Peak” design. The auction also includes outstanding selections of high-grade Lincoln cents and Morgan dollars from the Anne Kate Collection; Indian Head/Buffalo nickels from the Richard Hennessy Collection; Standing Liberty quarters from the James W. Lull Collection; and a virtual treasure trove of proof gold coins which has our interest for sure.
The World's Fair of Money is hosted by the Denver Coin Club.
It will be held at the Colorado Convention Center, Hall C, 700 14th St., Denver, Colorado. Public hours are Wednesday through Friday, August 16 - 18, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday, August 19, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For additional information, visit the American Numismatic Association web site, www.money.org, or e-mail us at info@coinace.com
