2013 has started off with a bang!  The Florida United Numismatists show (FUN) was as well attended as any show we have participated in within the last 5 years.  Not only was room full of dealers, special displays such as the Hobo Nickel booth and Mr. Abe Lincoln and Robert E. Lee...but collectors came to this show to buy. The aisles of the convention center were jammed at times, a welcome sight indeed! The weather in Florida was superb and we enjoyed meeting new friends and catching up with old ones as well!  It looks as if the collectors that were sitting on the sidelines pending the election of 2012 and horrors of the "fiscal cliff" are back in the game.

 

Increasingly difficult to locate are any "monster-toned" coins, proof type with magnificent mirrors, early type with amazing eye-appeal, copper with swirling luster and gorgeous color and under graded PQcoins that excite...of course these are just the type coins we love to place!

 

Great coins are scarce and we really have to work hard to acquire, but we still work on quality not quantity...you can rest assure that any coin on our website is special and will not disappoint in hand.  We have been bemoaning the fact for the last few years that we cannot find enough stellar material for our clientele and that has not changed...we are having a difficult time locating PQ material and coins with CAC stickers (always in demand) but we do our best.  We were able to return from this show with more than 50 new pieces that met our stringent qualifications, coins we are proud to offer.  We took a Walking Liberty Half collection on consignment that was assembled according to the quality of the strike in addition to technical merit...it took many years to locate these coins and you might take advantage of that.  We were able to acquire a stunning Gold Dollar (1885) in PR64 Deep Cameo PCGS/CAC and an 1800 Half Dime and 1801 Dime that are exquisite in their own right.  We offer several new SaintGaudens for your viewing pleasure and we think you will find them hard to resist.
